Description
Ovonics Energy’s, Zero Emission HTC HEV (Hydrogen Electric Vehicle) The HTC HEV is a 350KW, 1,450 FT/LB of torque, zero emission Class 8 highway truck, powered by our proprietary HTC hydrogen drive system. The hydrogen drive system provides a highway driving range of greater than 500 miles per fill-up and the refueling time is around 10 minutes.
This truck is classified as a ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle). This proprietary HTC hydrogen drive system also eliminates dependence on diesel, and eliminates pollution associated with burning fossil fuels.
We can install the HTC Zero Emission drivetrain into your choice of three domestically manufactured chassis: Freightliner, Kenworth, or Peterbilt. The HTC hydrogen drive train consumes approximately 1 KG of H2 to travel the same distance as 1 gallon of diesel. To achieve a commercially viable highway range of 500 miles, we need to carry slightly over 80 KGs of H2. Even if compressed to 700 bar (10,000 psi) or liquified, the H2 tanks would need to be enormous and are not viable. HTC has a patented proprietary hyper activated nanocarbon carrier that carries approximately 0.3 KGs of H2 per gallon volume. Therefore, tanks of 260 gallons volume total are sufficient (most highway trucks carry 300 gallons of diesel).
The single largest operating cost for a trucker is the fuel bill. The average highway truck logs 100,000 miles per year consuming $65,000.00 or greater of fuel. Therefore, the cost per mile becomes the prime concern of any trucker, several major trucking firms concur that if the cost per mile were 25% less, they would readily and willingly embrace the new technology. Ovonics passes on cost savings, TAX Credits and incentives to the customer making the H2 powered trucking company unbeatable when competing with conventional diesel-powered trucks for contracts. Not only is it less expensive, but it also has zero emissions!
As it happens HTC can manufacture H2 at the 300 chosen nationwide locations for less than diesel per KG of Hydrogen. It costs approximately $3.00 per KG to re-hydrogenate the spent H2 carrier at the fueling stations. Our cost ready to dispense, is less than current cost of diesel today!
